MEGADETH's CHRIS BRODERICK Auctioning Guitar To Raise Funds For School Music Program
April 12, 2012MEGADETH guitarist Chris Broderick is selling his personal Ibanez Prestige S5470F Red Viking Electric Guitar via eBay. All proceeds of this sale will benefit the music and art programs, field trips, etc., for the children of Magnolia Elementary School in Oakdale, California, where Broderick's niece and nephew attend.
This guitar was used in the recording of "Endgame", the twelfth studio album by MEGADETH. It was released via Roadrunner Records on September 9, 2009. "Endgame" was the first album featuring Broderick and he's shown holding this exact guitar in the album artwork. The single "Head Crusher" from "Endgame", was nominated for "Best Metal Performance" at the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. "Endgame" entered The Billboard 200 at No. 9 (marking the band's tenth overall top 10 debut) and reached number 1 on the U.S. Top Hard Rock Albums chart.
This auction also includes:
* Two of Chris Broderick's custom armbands worn on tour.
* Nine MEGADETH guitar picks total. Five different Chris Broderick guitar picks from 2008-2012, plus two guitar picks (one with 13 logo, one with "Endgame" logo) from MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine, and two guitar picks from bassist David Ellefson (one with 13 logo, one with just the MEGADETH logo).
* Two autographed photos of Chris Broderick. One from 2010 with his custom Ibanez, one from 2011 holding his custom Jackson guitar.
